Airbag Issues...

A lot of new cars have sensors where the airbags turn off if there isn't enough weight on the seat. Wouldn't surprise me if they start checking those. I haven't heard anything though. You don't have a link or anything, do you?

hes talking about airbag suspensions //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

and this is due to the stock air-ride systems on many new-ish vehicles. generally the bag and valves are checked during inspections anyways on stock vehicles, this is probably mostly for aftermarket setups, which in most cases wont pass an inspection

Whew! I was wondering on that second post??? Thanks. Stupid is as Samson does. Don't know of any non-commercial stock air suspension systems except like on RV's?

There have been a few, the main one I can think about off the top of my head is many of the lincolns going back to like 1989, my 91 T-bird SC also had airbags.

They are not like after market airbags you put on, more of a 'firm' ride for whipping around corners or a 'smooth' ride for on the highway etc where you do not want to feel the bumps as much.

Come to think of it, my parents have an expedition with a load leveling system on it. Bet it's an airbag. Never really thought about it.

Oh, well. Good luck with your inspection, revrider. I'll bow out since I obviously don't know what the hell I'm talking about. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
