Actually he is quite right. Anything AOL is not allowed on my machines. My hatred stems mostly from their historyand not so much by what they may have out currently. I wouldn't know how good their software is anymore because I wrote off that company a long time ago.

I use aim, and i've used it for years.

But just recently i started using MSN at work, it's a good IM program but not alot of people use it.

Which was my reason for going with trillian. I have used it since its first beta years ago. No need to worry about what client your friend uses. It also allows me to talk to people who use aim without having software from AOL on my PC.

Funny thing is that I grew up on AOL before it was even AOL. I used to get on the net through Q-link on my Commodore 128/64(ok ok I can understand why they stopped support, old obsolete, company bankrupt, whatever). That company(quantum) decided to change the name to AOL then they signed on with Mac when commercial internet was really taking off. Totally abadoning the work they did for the commodore. So I switch to a PC when AOL was available for windopws and found it wasn't the same company anymore. Not to mention I couldnt get the **** program off without a frsh start of windows on it. I routinely slowed the already slow machine down. Their old software literally used to try taking over the PC. Not my cup of tea. So I said **** em and still do.

sometimes I use GAIM but I use aim more.
