Yeah I know these threads come up a lot. Ever since I bought my IS-F, cops have been flagging me down CONSISTENTLY every weekend, most let me off the hook after bringing up the fact that the new tint law is on the verge of being passed.

Cops setup a stop on the road, flagged me into their stop. Front windows were all the way down. First cop tells me to roll my windows up, I do not listen and approach the ticketing cop. She tells me to roll windows up, I do so. She told me she was writing me up for window tint. I asked her if she was aware that Pat Quinn, the governor of Illinois has approved a bill which needs to be returned to the house for an ammendatory veto which he will then sign. I showed her the document, "With these changes, House Bill 3325 will have my approval. I respectfully request your concurrence." I also made it apparent that I was not trying to look cool with the tint, simply protecting my car from sun rays since my car is not garage parked. Had I wanted to look cool, I think I would've went with something darker than 35%...

Anyway, yeah, guilty as charged, but don't feel like paying it.

From what I read, you can get a doctor to sign off claiming you need the tint, or remove the tint and take pictures. Does this sign off actually work? I'm pretty sure I can find a doctor to do that for me.

They never actually used a light measuring device to check the tint, so I guess the judge just bases it off the officer's honor? I could probably get a mechanic to sign off as well.

Anybody have experience with fighting a tint ticket? I'm reading up on the internet as well and searching, but any input is appreciated, aside from "JUST PAY THE TICKET."

you can buy spray paint window tint and they can't do a damn thing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

ya man just pay up or take it off and get it put back on. thats what i did. i got a ticket and took it off showed the court and now i gotta get my front windows redone......

Where in the book of laws does it say you can't spray paint your windows?
Well, there are laws that say you can't have things obstructing your view. You can get pulled over for having crap hanging from your review mirror. You don't think they can give you that same ticket? Maybe you could fight it, but why go through the trouble?

The laws in most states aren't for tint per se, they're for light transmission through the windows. So technically, you could get a ticket for spray painting your windows because that would no allow any light to pass through.

I got a tint ticket a few years back. All you have to do is peel it off and go to the police station and get them to sign off on it, then go to the DA's office and they will drop the ticket. Then, go get your windows tinted again.

The only thing that might work is your doc or fighting it because of proof. You have to take it to the station and have an officer sign off on it..

You dont really buy tint, you kind of rent it.. They pull you over, you take it off, get it dropped, and tint it again..

get a doctors note for migraines and eye sensitivity to light and that will pass a tint waiver
