ahh trouble installing hu, need help

my neighbor is selling his car, so he wanted me to put the stock radio back in it. The original plugs for it were there, i plugged it up, but it didnt work. powered on but no sound, so i figured something was wrong with it.

He had a new dual cd player, he bought from walmart, with the flip down face. I got it in, powered up. i hooked the front two speakers up, they played fine. then after that, no sound was coming out. it wasnt putting out any voltage, on the wires going to the speaker. think something could have gone wrong? it still powers on, everything works fine on it, except no output. i noticed on the display, there were 4 boxes on the top, and 3 were empty, 1 had a picture of a speaker in it. could it be something set wrong on the cd player?

does the car have a stock amp? maybe thats whats causing the issue?

could be a speaker shorting or is grounded try to hookup the units to speaker wires and speakers that are on the front seat so to speak if it doesnt do it try one of the front speakers then the next til you narrow the prob down //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

no, it doesnt have a factory amp. Its just weird because it was working, then 5 minutes later it wouldnt. i checked to make sure nothing was shorting out, all the connections are on with butt connectors

lol if a speaker is bad the voice coil will short so regardless of the wiring behind the radio you will have issues

run the radio with speakers on the front seat wiht new wires you run from back or radio to them or get a MM out

nooo they tested fine. the dual doesnt read any ac current from the outputs. but i got the stock one working, it was a simple mistake i made with it
