Im sitting here debating constantly making several useless posts that should be deleted about my dumb stereo system.
Im sitting here thinking about my hcca, and why it started smoking. let me tell you exactly what happened.
Friday night- went out with some friends, and i was cruising around listening to the system at a reasonable volume. I turned it off because i was entering a residental area and later on, i turned it up and there was nothing coming from my type-r. I thought shit, what the **** did i blow now. So i just kept driving and we went to a bar. afterwards, i turned it up and it was wanging.
The same thing happened for about 2 days, playing once, then i turn it down and it doesnt come back to life. So the one night, I stopped at a GM dealer to look at a camaro i want (yum)
i had the system on at this point, car still running. my girlfriend tells me when i get back in the car that she heard somthing blow up, and that it sounded like fire crackers. so i look, and my orion hcca5000 that is not even 2 weeks old is smoking, bad..and it smells. bad.
so i send it to orion and now i have been thinking..should i just run somthing with less power and give up on the whole competing thing? i know my current setup has potential but i just need to know, what would cause an amp to smoke like that.
is there any chance that the sub caused the amp to be damaged? keep in mind i am a noob, and any flames/advice is accepted
i want to know how to unleash this beast and win some competitions. what kind of battery/alternator do i need under the hood?
