after market HU

Just ebay your car + radio wiring harness and get it for a few dollars.

You'll have to splice into about a dozen wires... all of which are color matched. Couldn't be simpler.

If your car has a factory amp... it's a bit more tricky.

is it a pain in the *** to install an aftermarket HU or easier than I'm thinking it is? I'm looking into getting either a JVC KW-AVX810 or a JVC KW-AVX720 and a pac swi-jack adapter but i'm going to do the install myself so I want to know if i would be getting in over my head. I'm wired my amp to my factory HU so I know a little but I would still call myself a novice when it comes to this kind of stuff. Also, and input on which of those HU is better? also does anyone know where I can get a walkthrough to install an aftermarket wiring harness?

its very simple. like said above, ebay your car + harness, itll only be at most 15 bucks, its all color coded unless the amp.. the hardest part of the whole thing is probably getting the dash off.

yeah man, a head unit swap is simple. When you have the wireing harness you will connect the proper wires to the harness for the deck. Then just plug it in.

thanks for that, sorry everyone doesn't know as much about these things as you do, I just wanted to know if its something that a novice at these kind of things could do.
sorry you dont do any research before you ask such questions.
