Aeroport PVC + angled corners

Now, I know PVC isn't the best material to use for aeroports. But I'm building a box soon, and it's for someone I no longer like (ex girlfriend who cheated on me, whom I feel obligated to finish her install), so I was just gunna get 30" of 2" PVC and cut them into 7.75" pieces. (The box is gunna be a dual-chambered 1.79 Ft^3 with two 2" Aeroports tuned to 40hz. Subs are RF P3's 12"s)

Anyway, I was just gunna get some heavy grit sand paper and round off the edges the best I could, then just... well, I don't really know how to secure them. I assume caulk or woodglue?

Anyway, would it sound like complete shit? Or will it be bareable?

And for angled corners, do you just take a piece of wood, the height of the box and cut 2-45 degree angles on each side then glue it up against the edge?

so ur gf cheats on you....
and you want to finish an install you started for her.

u pussssssy piece of shiiiiiiitttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, she cheated on me as we were getting together... we weren't commited when she did it, just that awkward stage right before the both of you are actually in a relationship.

And I was just waiting for her to admit it to me, and I was fine with it. ('cause I did the same thing a few weeks earlier) But, she ended up breaking it off... out of guilt I guess.

But, thanks.

Now want to be more productive?

why isnt pvc good material? I think it is if its molded properly
Well, because when you cut it, it gets frayed edges... that's at least my experience with it.

And since PVC is a rough material, it's hard to get the edges smooth.

Don't use 2" PVC for ports. You will port noise out of this world. Go with 2 4" PVC ports at a minimum.

You will not be able to sand down some 2" pvc pipe to make a flare. You will be wasting your time on something that will sound horrible.

As for securing the PVC to wood, you can use any 2 part epoxy that claims to bond between wood and plastics. You can find this at Walmart and it will work just fine.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking about it today and realized 2" isn't enough diameter.

But as for a flare, can I just sand the edges down to make them as round as possible or do I need a conventional flare?

ur you could glue another piece of wood in top of the box and kind of try and use that extra piece of wood as a flare, Does that make sense?

For all of you interested...

I made a Google Sketchup of said 'Wooden Flair'.

I think I did a good job IMO.

Now I just need to get a router and actually do it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I apologize for the lines-- Google SketchUp is br00tal with curved edges.

i have attached PVC (Actually was a paper storm tubing) to a box using fiberglass+mat and it worked out well.,
then flush trimmed the hole, and rounovered it.
I don't have fiberglass or mat... so, I'm limited. I don't have any sort of tools. But my friend's neighbor said he'd cut the wood for us.
