Aero vs Vent?

Ok title really says it all, and i'm very sorry if this a repost which it most likely is. I did search and found nothing tho.

So what is the difference in sound here? i have heard that aero ports give you bad port noise. I've never had experience with them but was drawn to the fact that i could change tuning just by changing tube. I have had a box with a vent port tho at 34hz and could never make out "port" noise just sounded good to me. Some one with more experience please help me out here.

aero ports don't cause port noise, not enough port area causes port noise

unrounded pvc ports cause port noise

unrounded slot ports cause port noise

bigger the port area, lower the air velocity, less noticeable port noise

they're both fine, if you want to change your tuning, aeros are just fine

So to install a aero port, you just build your box the size you want, and then find the right aero port for your need, and cut it in? probably silicone the back for seal? That sounds to simple, what am i missing anything??

Just make sure you tune it right.

Can anyone explain how to properly install and use aero ports? It cant be hard just want to make sure i do things right.

The easy way to use aeros would be to make them external. That way you don't have to take the whole port out everytime you wanted to change tuning.

Like this:

Looks ugly, but changing the ports is easy and quick. Use duct tape to attach the ports.
