aero ports

Ok I have decided to make a box for my 15 inch sub the dimensions will be

W22 x D16 x H18

Giving a total internal area of 2.39 Cubic Feet

Using the site Subwoofer Enclosure Calculators, Fraction to Decimal, Parallel, Series, Port Length and Volume Calculators

Its saying with 2.39 Cubic Feet, 6 inch wide port , and 15.5 inch Long port my tuning will be 40Hz.

Now I have a couple questions

  1. How close is the 40Hz tuning estimate?
  2. is a 6inch diameter aero port too shallow, will it cause whistling or any unwanted noise?
  3. given the tube has 1 (external) or 2 (internal and external) flared ends will this affect the overall needed length, someone said I need to add .5 inch to the port length for each flared end.
  4. Do the ports need to be on the inside of the box with a flared end coming flush with the outside or can it just be screwed onto the outside and just stick way out or would this affect the tuning.

also if the box is 16 inches deep, sub is 8 inches deep from the mounting spot, given I have 8 inches room left is that enough room for a 6 inch wide aero port? any type of extra bracing I should do for the aero port?

I have 2 incriminator audio lethal injection series subs, but i have a kia forte with a little trunk opening but plenty of trunk space so was trying to design a box that I could build 2 and fit them both in my trunk

Do 1 in a ported enclosure. Space=bass.

The enclosure is the most important part of a sub stage.

well I mean the internal deminsions of my trunk is like 18-20 inches tall, 28 inches deep that I can play with accounting for back seats slanted angle and 44 inches across

so all in all I have approx

H19 x W43 x D28

but my trunk opening is like 30 inches wide 14-16 inches tall

i still say your best bet will be just to run one of them.
not to mention its fun when you have single sub systems that will outplay a lot of peoples 2-4 sub setups.
Ya soon as my probation is up I plan on buying a single either 12 or 15inch DD Z series sub and buying a DD M4a amp and slam on peoples like you said 2-4 sub setups with a single 12/ single 15.

but whats a good box deminsions for one then? and should I go slot ported or aero ported
