Ok I have decided to make a box for my 15 inch sub the dimensions will be
W22 x D16 x H18
Giving a total internal area of 2.39 Cubic Feet
Using the site Subwoofer Enclosure Calculators, Fraction to Decimal, Parallel, Series, Port Length and Volume Calculators
Its saying with 2.39 Cubic Feet, 6 inch wide port , and 15.5 inch Long port my tuning will be 40Hz.
Now I have a couple questions
also if the box is 16 inches deep, sub is 8 inches deep from the mounting spot, given I have 8 inches room left is that enough room for a 6 inch wide aero port? any type of extra bracing I should do for the aero port?

Now I have a couple questions
- How close is the 40Hz tuning estimate?
- is a 6inch diameter aero port too shallow, will it cause whistling or any unwanted noise?
- given the tube has 1 (external) or 2 (internal and external) flared ends will this affect the overall needed length, someone said I need to add .5 inch to the port length for each flared end.
- Do the ports need to be on the inside of the box with a flared end coming flush with the outside or can it just be screwed onto the outside and just stick way out or would this affect the tuning.
