I realize ADS was bought out chopped up and dismanteld by Directed

but I found a pair of these ADS's above BNIB for 150.00 and installed them in my truck

and they were the best comps I have heard in years and if the PP comps

are indeed the same,I can get em cheap on ebay (200.00) and use em on a buddys car

forthcoming...The almost apear identical except for the cone/phase plug.

They smoked my previously owned crystals,my HEX's,my AURA's

LOADS of midbass and a pretty sweet tweeter,other than the Xover being

the largest one I ever had to install they were a pretty dam sweet set of speakers

Might be similar baskets, but the speakers themselves are probably produced differently and using different parts.

From what I've heard the PPI's are the same as the A/D/S save for the different cone material.

But I haven't used them both or seen measurements for both to confirm this.

I miss the old PPI. The PC models (or "greys" as I called them) were straight stupid. Outstanding amps.

well the ADS versions are AWSOME.........especially for what I paid

they kick the shit out of anything I had previously run

The ADS is an older Directed set, came out in 2005 I believe.

The PPI set is basically a 2007 version, with updated cone material and voice coil, sold under the PPI brand name.

I bought another set but this time the PPI's for a buddys car

and they sound pretty much the same as the ADS......

They really kick ***,surprised these arent more popular since they are

one of the best set of speakers I have ever tried and with zero door treatment

to boot......go figure
