I know you are a super busy person with running **** sites and whatnot, but give me some of your time to lay out an awesome idea for your site. The site runs on ad dollars, and the clients like to see traffic and lots of activity. This assures them people are seeing their ad. So we need to somehow get participation up in the forums. That is where my plan comes in.

First off let me say, the mods do a wonderful job around here. However we need some fresh faces behind the scenes. I think we should make this site a bit more democratic. Lets do elections for mods. Set the intervals like once a year(or whenever the hell you feel like it). You can supply candidates for the other members to vote on. Lets say like 10 mods for the sake of getting a number.

So your first question must be, "how do I choose the candidates?"

I'm glad you asked that.

By post count of course. Take the top posters of the forum and throw them onto a ballot. This idea is 2 fold and full proof. First off, we know anyone putting that much time and effort has to be doing the forum some good. Secondly it promotes people to post more and participate knowing they have a shot being nominated next time. More post = more activity = more traffic = more ad $$$. Pretty simple huh?

It doesn't stop there. Lets talk about the voting process itself.

We could go the easy route and fix the broke polls so people can't cheat, then make a post with a poll. This would allow people to see the vote in progress and see the results. Thats a good idea in theory, but I have a better one. Use some cryptic blind ballot vote that only YOU see the results to. This plan works because it creates drama as to the validity of the voting. People soon question how certain mods got on staff when it was seemingly apparent no one voted for them. This drama creates more posting which we have established leads to more dollars.

My brilliance doesn't stop there!

How should we reveal the results? Should we just post up the winners directly after the election? I say no. Here is my plan.

When the election is over, tear down the announcement and slip off into the night. Don't return with any offerings of data. Just pop in from time to time and leave. Then one day announce that results will follow shortly but some votes are struggling to get through or a recount is needed to verify. Then delete said announcement and treat it the same as the initial ending. Continue this for however long you feel or basically until you feel like putting in the effort to handpick the mods. This Chaos will cause MUCH drama and MUCH posting will ensue. Classic threads like "so who are the mods?" and "where the hell is the admin?" Which in turn makes you more money!

My advice here is free, just remember me later when your cruising in your new BMW.

I think we heed a way to validate the voter as well. Maybe via email registration?
That would work. Then bubbleheads would get confused or forget to verify. Even better the spam filters knock it out of site and the stupid ones forget to check. This puts there votes in purgatory. AWESOME!
