I haven't heard either, but from what I've seen and read I'd choose the extremis, PM undercoverpunk, he has a set of them, he posted a vid of them a while back and they looked like they slammed, I remember it showed his side mirror shaking with no subs playing, only the extremis mids and some tweets.

Extremis. I've heard from a couple sources that the xxx's dont sound that natural (not that that's really a big concern to someone running 6 xxx18s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif ) I really enjoy my extremii, probably one of the best purchases I've made. Nice smooth extension down low and midrange is decent.

Also keep power in mind, with the extremis being 8ohm and the xxx's being 2ohm.

i chose XXXs because was too n00bx to figure out an 8 ohm setup; and because my doors could accomodate its big mounting depth. they easily shake up my non-deadened doors. i run them in a bastardized 3 way setup with the regular RE component set.

the way i see it: XXX = spl , extremis = sq ; performance: extremis > XXX

from what i've heard the XXX has some mechanical noise and the SQ isn't as natural as most like. The Extremis is always getting some love out there. Also many people are liking the Dayton Reference woofers.

What pisses me off is half the fucking people who ***** about the XXX mids have never even heard them...EVER. They just link to they ghey review. I listen to them on a daily basis and love them, they blend well with my Vifa tweets...and my good friend who is a HARDCORE Home Audio SQ guy...likes them as well.

man you guys must have the luxury of big doors to have the ability to run deep drivers like that.

Also, mine are in fiberglass sealed door pods.

what kind of music do you listen to? (not trying to start anything) but on rap the xxx mids are good but on alot of sq tracks i listened to they were punchy and flat at the same time lacked "livelyness or natural realism "ummm lol(trying to think of the right word for it lol) i heard quite a few show cars with them inside but none compete in sq. not saying they are bad just people should know its tendancies. as a pure mid bass playing in a limited band width should negate any problem (if you want to call it one as they still blow away most other car speakers)
