I didnt start taking adderall because I couldn't focus... I can focus (or not) if I want to. It was because college was kicking my *** and I needed all the help I could get (electrical engineering majors or ANY engineering majors can chime in on that one). It makes you WANT to do your homework and pay attention in class, etc.

I've been taking different stuff since 1st grade, adderall makes me sleep compared to dexodrine.

So is the dosing for multiple pills per day, or just like one before school and homework? I don't plan on abusing them, and have never really had a self-control problem...I just can't seem to focus and get my work done. I get side tracked by something on tv, or I'll thinking of something and look it up on the computer and the next thing I know is that I've been goofing off for two hours. My doctor thought it was anxiety/stress so he prescribed me Lexapro. The only thing that got me was a false sense of security if I didn't take it.

Depending on the doctor, they'll probably start you off on 10 mg or so, depending on your body weight and how severe your symptoms are.

They started me on 20 (moderate-severe symptoms and at the time I was ~200 lbs.) and moved it up to 40 after about 6 months and it only helping in the morning. By the afternoon I was back to wandering

the old adderall (non-xr) was multiple a day, since it wasnt extended release it would only last 4 hours or so, but the new Adderall XR (extended release) you take in the morning, and they last for 8-10 hours. These are the ones people abuse, because they crush up the little extended release balls and snort them.

You will definitely be able to focus with some adderall though... it works wonders. Just took mine about 30 minutes ago and I feel like I could write 5 pages right here lol.
