About hooking up iPod to the PRS880 Pioneer.

I **** at decks and new to this iPod or that fact MP3 player. I ordered a 3.5m/m cable and just got it and thought it direct connected into my player. Well it don't. I guess I should have checked to see if my cord from my iPod would have fit what I thought was the hole, but didn't. Noobish of me. I was told by a couple well respected members here I didn't have to take the deck out to hook this cord up.

My question is do I have to take the deck out to put this cord into it? I have to find my key card thing to even take it out, but wanted to see if I am just missing something or I need to take out the deck to put this in.

I mean all I will be out is a few bucks, but I really wanted to use this in my car with out having to get a mod of some sort.

you can get a 3.5 to 2.5 mm adapter to go from ipod headphones, to the front (aux 2) on the HU

only thing is that they put it in a funny location, its on the bottom of the faceplace.

the way mine is mounted, to use that the deck faceplate has to stay open.

i much rather use the ipbus cable...it charges ipod too

I was told to just get the 3.5mm cable and it should go from ipod headphone jack to deck. I thought it was the little hole when you flip it down and is too small. Not sure what that is now.

Yeah, I know I can go that route, but was trying to stay cheap and I can charge the ipod on my computer when it needs a charge.

I have already spent 500 bucks this Christmas. Trying to go cheap route.

Ah, I am thinking Faulkton told me the wrong thing for it. Easy mistake. I just have the wrong cable is all. So I need a 3.5 to 2.5 mm cable. Correct?

you don't need anyother wires. That is all, comes with everything you need.

no problem I have one and they are awsome. Make it so much easier than the RCA cable I had before. Also a lot safer then looking at the ipod while driving.

pio = 2.5, reg cable = 3.5
you need an adapter, or a cable with 3.5 on one side and 2.5 on the other...rare to find local, but easy on the net.
