? about Critical Mass

When Kicker released the square driver, they could have said no other driver filled its niche, so lets put msrp at $2999.00 When Adire released the first xbl^2 enabled drivers, they could ahve said the same thing, and slapped a $3k price tag on their subs too, I suppose. Not suggesting you can make a UL as cheap as an L7, but you get my point.
It IS a game to ensnare the ignorant. You yourself, when the $2999.00 price is mentioned, allude to the fact you can buy them for a small fraction of that. Does nobody pay msrp for CMass products? If not, clearly its just a marketing ploy. At least other manufacturers DO have alot of dealers who charge that actual msrp rate (as much of a rip off as it is). And then the discussion moves to the used market. So again its clear the initial buyer really takes it on the chin, or CM marks their msrp up way higher than their actual 'price' to create an illusion of added value or performance.

before you CMass fans get your pitch forks and torches out, let me remind you of the similar feelings towards JL's prices. Nobody knocks the performance of a W7, but negative feelings about their prices run rampant. JL doing the same thing, but to a lesser degree.

If you have clients that pay $20k for a TV that they could get the exact same of but says Pioneer on the front for $14k less, they are definitely not informed. Either that, or they are a poor example to use of someone using better judgement. That is what this is all about after all right, discussing value versus msrp versus 'street price'?

yes kicker and the other could have, I assume they decided to market to the masses, rather take the road C.M. has taken. I can't say for sure, this is simply speculation.

as for my clients and the $20k tv. Functionality is the same, but the intangables are not there, exclusivity (sp?) aestetics... they feel it is worth it.

Do you buy Kellogs Frosted flakes at Kroger or the kroger brand? why? Why do people go to Starbucks when Dunkin Donuts has better coffie for way less money?

why is my quote in there you ******* retard? what does it have to do with your weak argument? I never said that any specific product was over rated...and its quirks, and diminishing. sell some of your junk, and buy some English lessons.
Dave- you try and put "quality" into every post you make about these products. give me specifics. WHAT is the exceptional quality you boast about? and sorry, saying something vague and retarded followed by "...." wont cut it.
Well I've ran multiple of other products and brands....and Critical Mass products have some of the best SQ that I've experienced....I was highly impressed with them....I feel they are ahead of their time in the upper end products that they make...sorta like the Blade Technologies amps of the early 90's.....sure there are a lot of good products I haven't got to try as of yet...but I've found out if something ain't broke...don't try and fix it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

LCRX he is simply a depressed little person that is not worth replying to.

not krogers but foodcity...kellogs owns foodcity's brand

What has this thread actually proved??

The only thing I've learned is CM makes a really good product but has outrageous prices.

So, if you have the money and dont care to waste it on a GREAT sub go ahead.

That is the long short of it. There just seem to be guys out there that can't understand anyone owning the Critical Mass products. I have cought hell about liking Critical mass products, and I still to this day don't understand why, who gives a **** if I paid to much for somthing.

their amps and subs may sound good but i would never buy them...i know people pay for the brand like anything else but why would you pay 8k for a 1400 watt amp when you could easily have 8 saz-300d's? buying that many he would probably cut you a deal lol

Its just like audioholic said, when Phoenix was putting $100000 for one of their amps, its a shock and awe thing I would assume, but they are still in business and selling product, and as far as I am concerned really good product at that, worth $1000 for a comp set or $4000 for am amp, not to me, but obviously to several who have bought new.

You are not Snoop Dog, you would never buy, but he will. that is all that matters. there are guys that would say the same thing about Sundown vs. brand X. It is a personal preference.

Have you ever seen any personally? listened to them? What part of TN are you in? Maybe we could hook up some time and you could take a listen.

i wasnt bashing you at all...its just that a system will never sound so good that i would drop 8 grand on an amp alone...i could buy a brand new atv for that or a ton of car audio that i think sounds great

i wouldnt even drop 8 grand on everything in my car/truck...i can get plenty loud enough for me with alot less...the most i could see myself having in a single car is 5 grand

i just feel its all a placebo effect ......they charge a 8k for a amp so u think its the best thing since slice bread .......WHAT EXCATLY is in that amp thats worth 8k that zapco, usamps,dd dont have ...is the internals of that amp made out of sold gold or something ...can anyone who has any knowledge of cm products answer that question
