Ok, well, I have a Mazda RX-7 and it has an old Pioneer deck in it and I want to switch it out with an Alpine. The problem is, the Pioneer never really got any radio stations so I pulled it out yesterday and I find out that the antenna wire that is going into the deck disconnected from the connector. Basically, plug of the actual antenna is plugged into the deck, but the wire is disconnected so there is no antenna wire connected into the deck. How would I be able to fix this? Is there a way for me to fix this or what?

And while I have your attention, is there really a big difference between the Alpine CDA-9853 and the 9855? There is about a $40-$50 price difference between the two and the only difference I can tell between the two is that the 9855 is 4V outputs and the display.

Yeah you should be able to get a new antenna and then just run the wire to your deck, or you can solder the cable you currently have back together. Metra makes a lot of antenna accessories under a sub-brand called Antenna Works, check with a local dealer and they should be able to help you out. Plan on spending around 15$ for a new one.

ok, I have the deck and I want to go do the install. How am I going to get this antenna working? For the RX-7 it has two antennas a one that comes up when the car starts and then one on the rear window I believe The actual plug is not connected to the wire anymore, it broke off for some reason, how would I go about fixing this?
