AB HD 15 and nightshade 15

I liked my HDCs plenty dont get me wrong. I just didnt have the right box for them and I didnt feel like making a new one at the moment so i parted ways. My Omega likes the 3.5 cubes @ 32HZ much better. I just dont think people remember that HDCs are only rated at 1000watts then they get pissed when they fail on 4kw or somethin crazy.

I've seen all kinds of subs fail. It doesn't mean they're a bad sub it just means that person was running it out of the recommended specs.

I like my NightShades because they get loud without needing a lot of power and without needing a large enclosure. I've done swaps between NightShades and two other comparable subs from extremely popular manufacturers and the NightShades were louder both times. One was 0.7db difference and the other was 2db. They also IMO sounded better on music. These results are specific to my setup though and everyone might not see the same gains.

My 15" nightshade took a 3000d at 1 ohm and only got warm to the touch when I would burp it without giving it but 15-20 seconds to chill out. As far as just daily beatin, it took it like a champ and never once got warm

All 3 audioque american bass and sundown all make crazy great quality woofers!!!!!! As for 3krms I have ran a american bass Hd 15 on it with 0 problems, Just make sure it's clean power and the right enclosure!

honestly doubt that 3 of the coils failed do to a shitty coil....you were clipping or sending a nasty signal.. You can't play hours on end with 4k and expect the subs to last forever either...esp when they are rated for 1k, tho they will take 2k no prob daily
I am sending just as much power to mine if not more, and the only time I would get mine to fail is from clipping the shit out of it...but the sub took it for a long time...and playing below tuning.

And yes the failing of the subs was my fault. I was clipping the amps a little too much and even with that they lasted for a good while. I have the utmost respect for DJ and his company and what he does for the car audio industry. So to say the least I retract my previous statement about the HDC3's they are great bang for the buck and if treated properly and tuned properly will last forever and sound very good.

nightshades hands down i got 4 american bass hds that need recones cuz the spiders dont hold up and also a teammate whos baskets broke

I did with Anonymous's old HD3's that he sold to RAB then i bought from RAB.

some of the best subs ive ever owned. 1,000w rms? lol yeah right. eventually had 1 on a saz3000 @ 1 ohm and barely got warm. i originally had 2kw on each and they could play as long as you could stand it.

I've never really been impressed with the hdC3's

I dont know why the hdcs keep getting mentioned with the abs.. They are not the same sub.. Very different specs, different softparts, ect...

that is a very good point.

That 1000 watt rating is such a joke too:laugh: The spiders on my 18 are some of the stiffest spiders i've ever seen. I don't understand why they're way stiffer than the spiders on my teammate's 15's.
