AA Avalanches...

I'm having difficulty find specs on these. Also, what subs are they comparable to?

I was thinking about two 12" Rl-ps, but I may go with the two Ava's instead.

Ascendant still offers recone repair work on them i think...

I'd say Avalanches are very compareable to RL-p's since they are very compareable to the old XXX's minus a tad bit of output.

i'd put as wether or not you trust your seller that they where never abused. Also, do you want the standard TC9 or the crispness of a single stack XBL^2 drive with over an inch of true linear excursion.

i think the RLP is sexy, i just think the Ava is sexier. I havent heard an RL-P or toyed with one so my opinion is strictly bassed on hear say and looks.

I have toyed with an e12a, same motor as the RL-P, i like my Ava's sound better of coruse compareing a 12 to an 18 is hardly fair.

either way you go i highly doubt you will be dissappointed.

That's the best way to say it. I guess it's hard for me because I know how I've treated speakers before.

I guess it's like buying a car, when you've never driven it. It may look nice, but the engine may have seen 8k RPM on the daily basis and only had it's oil changed on election years. Or, it may have been maintained very well, and drive just like new.

i had a 15" ava and loved it. the output was great the low end was amazing. on some songs the bass was intense, it was like someone was hitting you in your back through the seat. i think everyone who had one and then sold it has regrets. i wish i havent gotten rid of mine.

yep. But i can tell you Ava's can take a beating. Ive dont straight burp after burp after burp for 3min not even letting the coils cool down and the coils never even began to smell, checking the output with the volt meter and i was giving it over 800w.

ive only been able to make the coils smell once and that was on a low distorted beat from some lil john song if i remember right.
