a quick question about bridging.

Well the amp i have is a 1000watt 4 channel that is "bridgable" now im pretty **** green when it comes to this car audio stuff and just exactly what does what. So my question is this the 2 subs have a maximum rms of 550 watts each but they are both only wired into one channel each so im wondering if that means they are only getting 250watts each and that if i bridged it to include the other 2 channels if they would then be getting 500 watts each....i really hope that made sense thanks for any help I MEAN IT!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :D //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :D //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :D

how much power your subs end up seeing is dependent upon what ohm your subs are wired at.....for example your amp is only bridgable down to 4 ohms.....this means you need to wire your subs to four ohms to recieve the amps highest output....although some amp[s can be ran lower then there rated...this is not the case with your amp...so basically just bridge the amp so the subs see there own bridged channel and make sure your subs are wired at four ohms....they will prolly see around 300watts maybe....

The typical Pyramid/Legacy "1000 Watt Max" 4 ch amp is going to have rms ratings something around --

50x4 at 4 ohms stereo

75x4 at 2 ohms stereo

150x2 at 4 ohms bridged/mono

A couple are as low as --

35x4

55x4

110x4

So best case scenario is you have 4 ohm subs and your amp is bridged getting around 150w per sub.

Haha wow so can anyone suggest a decent lower priced but still better quality amp i could buy that would actually feed the subs the power needed id love to hear it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

And i mean they dont sound to bad at the moment with the little power they are getting they can really make my car rumble but as this is my first real car system with subs installed i dont really have any experience to judge as to weather they are working good or not but hey who doesnt want there stuff to be running at full capacity right? so yeah if anyone can give me a better idea of how to set my stuff up to make it the best it can be or what i should maybe think about upgrading to or adding another amp maybe to go along with the one i have id love to hear that to hahaha hope this post wasnt to much thanks in advance ppl!!

Well on the box that the subs came in it says the can handle 550 watts each and then in a couple months im putting in some infinity 6*8's that say they need 60watts each so id like something that could power all that to its fullest extent i dont know why but i just really dont want an underpowerd car stereo and am really curiouse to see just how good/loud my first system can get.
