you can nt just simply assume that tuning the enclosure lower will magically smooth out the frequency response. its all DRIVER, CAR, and POWER dependent.

tuning low is good for SQ but there is a certain amount of output and upper end frequency response you are sacrificing if you are tuning in the 20-25hz range. I would only tune that low for home theater subwoofers where you dont need a ton of output or upper bass in a that environment.
