A cop lets you off the hook for the 4 traffic violations, do you do it again?

Imagine yourself driving home from school/work at 10PM. On the way home, you get pulled over for running two stop signs and not signaling three times on your turns.

You found out that the cop followed you for a good 5-6 blocks before he pulled you over.

The cop decides to let you off the hook and not fining you for the traffic violations you've broken.

Would you commit these same traffic violations again because you got lucky the first time? Or would you think back to how generous the cop was for letting you off the hook and continue to obey these laws through out your years of driving?

Would you continue to break these laws if the COP had been a bully and fined you a $500+ fine or whatever? Or would you be scared shitlist the next time you see a stop sign and remind yourself to make a complete stop?

The main thing I would like to know is if one is more willing to obey the law if they were let off easy, or when they get fined a shitload of $$$.

For a while I'd stop but after a couple of weeks I'd forget about it and do the same stupid shiz again
Same case for either scenario for me, I'd think about his *** being there
****.

I guess I'm just weird lol.

Everytime I see a stop sign I go to a complete stop now just because I remember back to that cop giving me the second chance to fix my ways.

However, I'm pretty sure if the cop had given me those tickets that night, I would have just became a cop hater and continue to break the law a few weeks afterwards.

Meh, **** it. You're going to get tickets from time to time, I dont care who you are, it's part of driving
Unless you're one of those people who does exactly the speed limit and does complete stops

Well, I've been driving for 3 years and just a few months ago was when I got pulled over for the first time and the cop lets me off the hook.

Before that incident, I was a bad driver; I've driven double the speed limit on freeways and I run a dozen stop signs a month.

Now, I seem to drive more cautiously. I no longer think I am invisible just because I drive in an old granny looking 99' Toyota Camry.

Just encountering Johnny Law should be enough to make a driver change their ways. Ticket, no ticket, charged with other infractions/crimes, just jangled nerves...you don't want to run across guys with guns and badges when you're messing up.

Rick

That's a tough one, you wouldn't know unless you've been in that position before IMO. If I got a ticket I would probably not do it again. For the most part I do a complete stop so I can get into 1st gear.

Same thing happened to me. I got 4 hours of community service( Watching people play Basketball at the local rec center). Same cop followed me a month later and said I did the same thing, but I told him he was full of it because I ain't gonna do it with the same cop following me, lol.

So prob forget after a bit

I used to do dumb stuff in my younger days. I don't do it anymore, well once in awhile I speed, well ok, I speed a lot, but nothing else. Maybe it is the old age, I don't know. Also when the kids are in the car, I drive like a granny............sometimes. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
