Not saying I thought I could afford it. I still figured it would be a little less than $22,000, considering new ones are 30k!

im sure you can find something better than a geo for 2k. Hell I bought my Mark VIII for 1400. Give me a zip and I can look it up on autotrader and find something worth getting.

what year is your taurus? the people we bought it from said it should get around 20 mpg and iim averaging about 21 and sometimes the transmissions shifts really roughly and kicks into gear hard, is that you are getting too?

Mine is the 1992 GL edition. 3.0 v6 Vulcan engine. The older 145 horsepower edition.

Check the transmission fluid. The engines are usually solid (in some cases up to 300k miles), but the transmissions start burning fluid after so many years. That is ultimately what killed the ******, power, and milage in my case. =\
