You talking about a main bearing or a rod bearing? And is it a thrust bearing if it is a main?

But to answer your question, I don't know of a specific example of that. It is however, something that can happen to ANY engine and usual causes include very old age, lack of proper maintenence, and other mechanical failures. The latter2 of which are generally somehow related to a lack of proper lubrication for that bearing.

found out why it was making that hell of a noise, when the car came back from its oil change the forget to fill it up with oil.. im glad the engine didn't lock up but all is well noise is gone now

take it back to who changed the oil and make them pay.

my car has a shitty oilpain design, and takes a few seconds for the oil pressure to build after an oil change, and THAT freaks me out, and that's just 5 seconds or so....

i can't believe you drove it home like that

sounds like someone owes you another motor,or atleasta rebuild...Go back and make em pay.But if its no oil,and you hear noise,your engine is shot to s***
