$900 bought me....

i would have picked up the Panasonic 50" 720p (TH-50PX80U) over one of Samsungs lower end plasmas for basically the same price. The PQ on ANY Panny Plasma is better than the 450 class Sammy Plasmas. This is just my opinion, good deal for $900 none the less. It also would have been worth the extra $200-$300 to step up to 1080p for the future, especially on a set 50" and over where you can tell the difference from a distance.

Judging from them in store, I preferred the Samsung. I've been looking at TV's for around 2 months now, and I got the one I like for a steal of the price so I'm happy.

As far as it looking small, I dunno, maybe it's cause of the high ceilings? And it is in a pretty large room, maybe 20 x 15 ft, so that could be why.

They're only around $100 I believe. Less than a good headunit, that's for sure.
Heh, for sure. I just like them, they're a completely different listening experience than MP3s or CDs and other digital representations. It's poorer quality, but for some reason I'd rather listen to a vinyl than a CD.

Depends on how much you want to spend //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
That's true. I've been trying to find an old vintage-type one, maybe even a busted one that I could fix. But, thus, none that peak my interest. In most cases, the shipping is more than the actual unit, and anything local is just a piece of garbage.

i have a vinyl player allmost just like that. been YEARS since i've used it. i think it's sitting in storage. nice score on the tv.
Lemme holler.

You've been listening to the wrong things if it's been poorer quality //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I see a lot of Technics SL-1200MK2's on your local Craigslist for around $200...not a bad deal.

where you find that deal?
A local place called Jetson's. Best Buy has it for $999 with a $100 gift card, so it's essentially $899. I just didn't want to deal with having the spend the gift card. Plus Jetsons has a one year free replacement warranty if anything happens.

Right now I've got PG RSD's in .35 cubes ported a piece on 100 watts x 2 for my audio stage and they sound great. I still need a cheap powered sub though...

now, theres a useless post.. He said he COULDN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE.. Cant you read?
I can read. It's just that 720P is older technology and with the size of his TV being that big it'll benefit him in the long run being future proof. A couple of other variables come into play such as viewing distance and what kind of HD source he'll be using but regardless the reason why he got such a deal is because 720P is older technology. I'm not bashing it or anything but the extra resolution is worth the extra $ imho. However, it's still a nice TV.
