8w7 or 12w6v2?

I'm running 1 12W6V2 in a built to spec slot ported box running off 500rms and it gets very loud and the SQ is still their unlike some subs. I was suprised at the output and quality of the W6v2!

I have 2 12w6v2's in a built to spec slot ported box in my Xtracab Tacoma. I've heard the 10w7 and the 8w7 in my truck, and while loud, it wasn't exactly something to write home about. Not much room in my cab as it is so its easy to get loud.

Now the 2 12w6's I have hit way harder than anyone ever needs to hear on my 9835 volume at 20 is about as loud as your ears can stand. Not to mention the fact that it feels like my doors and rear glass is going to fall off. I have 1100 watts RMS running to the 2 of them. So I'd say the w6 would be the one to go for. They can move some air and hit hard. A big ported box with 500 watts would be perfect. Then again this is coming from someone who's heard al of the above in the same vehicle, so take it for what its worth.

I don't understand why you would port a single 12w6v2 when looking for SQ. Isn't it their SQ sub while the w7 is their SPL/SQ sub? The w6 sounds better to me in a room = /

i'd personally pick the w7 8's... you dont see many setups like that and they will get atleast as loud as the w6 12''....

137 on Termlab sensors with 1 W7 8'' subwoofer isnt a joke //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif i've seen it... on a jl 500/1. that was also tuned for listening. all the while retaining great SQ.
