8w7 for midbass...feel free to call me names

It is a subwoofer not a mid-bass speaker. It wont be as clean from 60-150hz as an actual midbass speaker would. You can use it but it would be a waste of money IMO.

Agreed.

It was designed to be a subwoofer. Not a midbass driver.

People always fall under the misconception that just because a driver is smaller (8", for example), that it will automatically be able to play as a midbass when that is not the case. If a speaker of any size was designed to be a true subwoofer, then that is how it will function optimally.

Would it be possible to use two 8w7 as "midbass" drivers??? I'm not concerned about mounting depth....i can do all that....but would it work? or would it just be too much to be classified as "Mid."
Absolutely not. I've got two of these things and you will be denying their ability to really sit up and "do that dance" by removing them from the 20-90Hz frequencies. They do **** good as subs, they **** for midbass. Please don't try it, unless you have the money to throw away, and then if you do, buy two of them and send them my way. If two sound freakin fantastic, I'm dying to hear four of these things on 1000W.

Keep them in the front as subwoofers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

And use Adire Extremis's for the midwoofers...teh earsex.
