8v Input headunits using Zapco Studio amps

Hi there, I just bought a Studio 100 and a Studio 50 amp.

Im using a Clarion DRZ9255 headunit, which is an 8v headunit.

Anyway, I have been on other forums reading that the older Studio amps can only accept up to 2.7v..

Should I be worried of any issues ??

read here onwards:

heres someone that used a 5v headunit

and heres someone hat has been running 8v eclipse unit with ARC amps

with no issues...

My question is has anyone been running a clarion drz9255 or any other 8v headunits with the old zapco studio amps ? Any problems ?

thanks

To add:

I read that the higher 8v headunits are suppose to help the amp by not

turning up the gains that much on the amp which helps reduce possible noise in the system.

I shouldnt see why there would be any compatibility issues with both the amp and the headunit. But then again, the zapco owners manuals states maximum input level spec....

what exactly does this mean in correlation to the headunit input voltage ?

thanks

i'd contact Zapco and confirm anything with them. i'm sure if there is a Voltage problem they can recommend something.
Already did:

The Deck most likely only puts out the 8v at full volume. I would measure the output of the headunit to see where it is putting out what output on the volume and keep that in mind when you are playing it. You can keep the gains at a min and just be careful.

Thank You

for me thats one thing i've found strange about my HU. when i checked my voltage out i got a reading of 8v no matter the volume level. i'd say use the drz and just gain down and watch that knob or if you want u could sell it to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif for 50 dollars //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

You mean line level attenuators...
Yes, i said in-line because because they are installed "in-line" (between the RCAs and the amp). Figured you knew they were for level attenuation based on the question you asked. I will be more specific next time, i didn't realize you were Canadian.......................
