both would sound good. sealed 10's would sound good, but so would a good powerful set of 8's. i have 12's sealed and they play every note and sound really good. i made the box size a little smaller than a lot of people would, not smaller than specs call for, but some would make them fairly large to hit the really deep bass from hip hop harder. sealed 10's is the way i would go if that's your choices, but the 12's i have hit really hard. i set my eq's with "walk" for my heavy metal equalizer and i love 12's sealed. get a bigger amp than your subs need with a sealed box. my subs call for 500 rms but i put 700+ a piece to them every day.
