800a2 overrated??

well i got a message recently from a unnamed member , telling me my RF 801S is overrated. I don't know for sure because i don't have the equipment to clamp it and find out but look at this. I have never heard anything but praise about the power series amps , and the "a" series amps are supossed to be some of RF's best ever. Yet for some reason the 801S is allegedly underrated. Be the judge and tell me if you can find a difference in the 3 boards here. LOL. I believe they are all the same board. Which would tell me my 801S is just as beast as any of the other "revered" fosgate classics. Only differecne i can spot is the older one has a gain knob for bass boost and the 2 newer ones have a remote plug instead of a knob.

All of those amps are very solid. Certainly not overrated, probably a little underrated. I purchased a 400a2 for a buddy of mine a year or two back. Good piece of equipment.

well i left him unnamed because he is a good guy and knows his ish usually. I didn't wanna just call him out as a dumbass because honestly i dont have any numbers to back up what i'm saying here. Ya know?

It looks like a solid amp to me
Well i know from experience that the 800a2 is a MONSTER , and i haven't really been able to push this newer amp on anything worthy yet so i have no clue how it performs. But from the looks of it , it should perform just as good as my old 800a2. LOL

I know the power series 500.2 does around 1300 rms at 4ohm but runs like a ******* oven!
Yes but thats a different monster. LOL. power supply is a little beefier on that one. and all 3 of the above amps run like a oven too. mine gets too hot to touch running 4 ohm stereo right now. LMAO!!

Thats MESHA its very effecent cooling if you were to touch the fets they would be warm but not hot like the sink, Its a really good cooling system. Takes 90% of the heat and puts it on the sink.

I wish I still had the video of us cooking a meat patty on a 200 DSM running 4ohm on 6 Punch Pro subs in the install bay lol, Amp got hot as hell but keeped right on going.

heat means power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rage.gif.0ad8a6e5565b5fddce406566fdd05149.gif
LOL. then i'm running a flux capacitor! honestly the hottest running amp i ever had. and i know its getting enough juice. I got 14 volts up front and 14 volts at the amps power terminals. So i know its not the install making it get hot. That sucker is 4 alarm fire hot after extended play at high volume.
