800 watts vs 1500

I'm running 2 12-s off an 800 watt amp now. I was thinking about upgrading to a 1500 watt. My question is how much of a difference would there be. I know theoretically (spelling) you can 3 db when you double the power, but how much louder would 1500 be compared to 800? I listen to alot of rock, rap, and bass mekanics. Just wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade. My subs will handle the power.

Cool. I'll do it. Anybody got any suggestions on a good amp that'll do 1500 at 1 ohm or 4 ohms. I can wire to either. Don't really care about the brand, just one that will work and last. For around $200 - $250, possibly a little more.

depends on subs,.....most are labled for saftey as to the actual amount of power

they will take but in 20 years of messing with car audio I have always gave my

speakers and subs more power then they were labled for and havent blown one

yet......//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

more is better

yea when companies label their subs at a certain rate they are just covering their own asses and trying to be careful, thats the case with most everything that has factory ratings on them. Dealers say cars need oil changes every 3k miles, thats bs u can go 5-7k miles without an oil change and be fine.

Yeah, I had some punch 8"s that were rated for 150 each. I ran them at 200 each, for the longest time, and they ran fine. As long as it's clean power most can take over what their rated. Now I used to have some of them $20 legacy subs that said 500 watts!! I knew they werent rated for that much but was figuring about 200, and found out they were rated for 50 watts rms. I was wondering why I blew them on a 200 watt jensen amp! You get what you pay for.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Fully test it without the ACR-1. TBH it sounds like an amplifier issue. Try connecting your phone direct to the amp via a 3.5mm to RCA cable. If...
