Lets move through your list off assumptions
Since he definitly needs a 1200 watt amp we can assume he has proper electrical upgrades because we all know that stock electricals are made for that kind of power.
We can assume he knows how to use the gain setting tutorial. Though I never follow that because I tweak to much.
We can even assume he's going to install his own system, right?
Ive seen plenty of time on CA.com where stuff was recomended bought then blown because of user error, too much power is usualy a culprit of this.
Triggers statements arent wrong, they just are not proper for someone asking the inital question that was asked. But I myself wont recomend overpowering to someone that is inexperienced with car audio. Start small then learn the basics then go big.
