75mm xmax 15" sub?

It can be maxed.

It will max at 50mm anyway from what I have read.
You suddenly build a suspension that can resist a vacuum like that?

A standard air powered venturi vacuum puller can pull around 22 inHg, which is an ungodly amount of force evenly applied across a surface - we have a vacuum lift that will hold a 8'x30' sheet of steel weiging in at 4,000 lbs with 18 inHg... If you've ever pulled 22 inches of mercury against your skin once, you'd know what I'm talking about, the force is astonishing.

We've collapsed steel walled tanks with 10 inHg, vacuum is a helluva thing... and the machine can always be modified if needs be...

erm...

I found out what subs they were... it was the ground zero nuke and plutonium series...

http://www.4tecelectronics.com/CarAudio/carprod03a.htm

their 15" subs claim to have a peak to peak of 4.7"... that's higher than the XXX, I'd imagine.

If only I can believe the numbers. Have you , loyd, or jlaine, ever had any experience with these subs? They don't come cheap, as the price indicates. It just got released here in the korean market, and I was wondering if it was worth going to the distributors for a demo of the subs.

hmm, weird...

here, it's 2.7"..a more believeable number.

http://www.foxaudio-uk.com/GROUNDZERO/gzplutonium.htm has more on the subs. The size looks massive.

I'm downloading their video to have a visual confirmation on the xmax ( not that I can judge xmax numbers well, but I think I should be able to tell a difference between 30mm peak to peak VS. 75mm peak to peak.

also, the vids are here:

the three subs don't looks totally in sync with each other, especially the center one. Strange...must be a horrid made box of some sort...

they do look like they have a lot of movement though. I'll wait patiently till either loyd or josh, or anyone really knowledgable about technical stuff to post their opinions on this subwoofer.

I have some firsthand experience with the European GZ Plutoniums...

http://www.soundillusions.net/sites/jlaine/GroundZero/

There are photos of two I imported a year or so ago...

The owner of MaGmA Gmbh, Peter is his name... Their site is http://www.magma-audio.de I believe...

One of their most informed and well known distributors is Tom Olander from http://www.atomicsound.net, whom happens to be located in Finland.

It's a derivitave of the TCS 4HP motor and the "eclipse TI" - it's overmotored to high hell, with a Qes of .19 and a Bl of 41 IIRC.

The photos of the comparison is next to a 12" brahma...

yes, now that you post this, I remember you mentioning the subs from way back. You didn't comment about the xmax numbers as well as the overall performance of the subs. Knowing you (in the forum), I'd say you caned it's pants off it and made it crawl back, crying "mama"

From what i've read about those subs, they require a passive radiator, so I believe that is what we're looking at. 1 sub with 2 radiators, thats why they don't all have the same excursion.

ah, radiators.. forgot all about them. Well, I guess it is.

Wonder why they use radiators though. I read from somehwere that it's not very efficient and hard to tune.

Adire has passive radiators though, and I'm sure they only deal with quality stuff.
