I wasn't replying to whether anyone is guilty or not. I was just correcting the statement that steroids weren't illegal in baseball.

The " " around magical in the 98 season would lead one to believe otherwise.

So because Jose Canseco throws every player that was better then him under the bus, means Pudge took steroids? so that is the evidence you are going on right?

If what Canseco said wasn't true, wouldn't there be defamation & slander lawsuits against him by those he named as users? The only one even CONSIDERING a lawsuit is Palmiero.

Calling out players and putting their entire career achievements into question is HUGE. Yet, no lawsuits. Obviously there's proof somewhere...and it will eventually come out.

Do you realize how much crap they'd have to go through to file a lawsuit? Why do you think celebrities never suit tabloids? It's not worth it.

i don't think pudge as taken illegal substances or performance inhancing drugs, his stats are usually around the same unless he is hurt, which is rarely, you really can't say these players has done steriods unless people can prove it, and right now nobody has, so to me they are innoncent until proven guilty, congrats to bonds, but that record will not hold, got a couple of good power hitters that are well on their way to getting close.....oh and x2 on griffey, if he wasn't injury prone we would be talking about him not bonds....but eh oh well

Baseball has been filled with cheaters and special circumstances for years. Hank Aaron spent an eternity hitting balls out of one of the easiest ballparks in the league; should there be an asterisk beside his name? What about all the great pitchers who doctored the balls they threw? And if pitchers are using steroid too, does it really make it any easier for Bonds to hit them out of the park? Keep in mind that Bonds was doing 40/40 well before anyone accused him of steroid use, and even if he did use steroids, the indication from Greg Anderson seems to be that it was unintentional.
