6x8's or 5x7's? price and recommendations?

how much does it cost for a pretty good pair of 6x9's? I drive a 2002 mazda protege 5 and I'm pretty sure the front door panels hold 6x9's. I am not looking for top of the line, just something that will be significantly better than the stock speakers.

Recommendations?

In case it matters my head unit is a Kenwood mp 205.

If i recall correctly there 6x8's since mazda=ford

aha...you are right:

2002-2003 Protege5

Front 5x7" @ 2.75"

* Can use 6x8"s, see note belov.

NOTE! 5x7"s and 6x8"s speakers are totaly interchangable as far as aftermarket speakers are concerned. So if you have a car with 5x7" speakers you can replace them with 6x8" speakers.

So I guess i'll rename this thread 5x7's or 6x8's!
