620 Horsepower ZR1 Corvette Reveiled!

I doubt it will run under 10's, the Enzo can't even pull that off.
Lots of horsepower is GREAT, but the real challenge is getting it to the pavement.
The current Z06 doesn't have too much issue with that can do very high 10s... this car has more power and should be a lot lighter (tons of carbon fiber)... I think it will.

WOW freaking amazing car.... Chev is definitly making some sick rides these days. My buddies modified SS trailblazer that runs 12's is SICK.

I have a 45 mile drive to work, and I never thought I would say that I would buy a chevy, but soon as the volt is released, I will purchase to save the gas money!

Eh, don't expect even a 9.99 1/4 mile time out of the stock ZR1. It'll be an obviously much easier 10 second 1/4 mile car than the current Z06 which, as we all know from that recent news thats been circulating, can run a very, very, very high 10 sec 1/4 mile time under perfect conditions. It does have 120 more horsepower but as for weight, the Z06 already has a ton of weight reduction over the base C6 vette. At most I can see it being 100 pounds lighter, which don't get me wrong, is quite a difference.

You don't think so? Under perfect conditions? I see it feasable... guess we will have to wait.

i think it's feasible because i fully expect that engine to be underrated. then again, it WILL be doing those 1/4 runs on the stock tires. good luck finding any DRs in a 20" size, and going to a smaller wheel/tire combo isn't an option with the rear 15" rotors. but it doesn't really matter because vettes weren't intended to be straight-line racers anyway.

A Z06 is only about 120 lbs lighter than a regular Vette. I'm guessing the ZR1 will tip the scales at roughly 2900-3000 lbs, I'm pretty sure a Z06 weighs in at about 3100 lbs...

I love this car but it still couldn't take the fastest American car, the SSC ultimate aero. It has over 1000 hp and weighs as much as a neon.
Fastest american production car. Only one SSC has arrived to a customer so far, iirc. I'm not sure the SSC would beat the ZR-1 on a track either.
