600wrms@ 2ohms and 200$ What sub(s) to choose

the MJ18 doesnt look like all that great of a sub, its only a single 4 ohm coil, i need a dvc 4 sub. The effeciency is pretty high though, but id need 2 to bring it down to 2 ohms. How about MA audio subs? they any good? If i cant find anything else im just gonna go with the RE 15"

The MJ18 is a GREAT sub, very good driver. MA audio is meh..i'm not really a fan. RE SE's are another great driver.

Why look for SPL when you're only pushing 600 watts? If you mean a sub that sounds the loudest, go with something that plays low. A sub that pounds in the 40Hz-50Hz range will sound and feel loud but won't meter very well. With 600 watts I would a buy good quality 12" sub for the $200. That way upgrading would be cheaper. You could simply buy a bigger amp and a matching sub.

i didnt mean it was a horrible sub flat out, but i dont think id get much power to a 4 ohm svc if the amp puts out 600rms at 2 ohms, or maybe a bit more wattage than that, crutchfield rates the amp higher, wouldnt the rule of thumb mean about 300rms at 4 ohms? unless i can get it in a 2 ohm svc.

Which would you guys go with between the mj18 and the RE SE15? Not really leaning towards a 12 because i dont wanna upgrade later to a bigger sub

SE 15 for this guy. it should do alright off of 600watts. i wouldnt bother feeding a MJ half its rated power. also 6 cubes will be to much for the SE. 3.5-4 cu ft is all it needs and a tune in the low 30s

the mj18 is actually rated for 600rms, but its single 4ohm so it wouldnt do as well as the SE15 i think. Seems logical atleast. What did you pay for your SE 15?
so a 18" MJ with half its rated power will do as well as a 15" SE with its rated power?? due to the fact that the MJ is single 4ohm voice coil it will get 300watts, the SE is rated at 600watts with a dual 4 ohm coil, so when wired down to 2ohms it will get 600watts!!

i payed 180 plus shipping for my SE of Ebay.

OPPS just reread what u said. wich is basicly what i said

i say go got the SE, put it in 4cubes cuase your low on power, tune to 32 and let it hang!

For a sub to operate off 600 RMS that is under $200. I'd recommend a 10" L7. I have that exact setup in my gf's car that does wonderful. A lot of people don't like them but I do.
