60$ components

i have about 60 bucks to spend on a pair of components (or co/tri axles) i could get some of the very low end boston speaks...cX5.... but i dont know how good they are. or possibly some MB quart? recomendations!

what's the cheapest you'd recomend spending? how much more needed to spend to be competition worthy?

Well I would say you could probably pick up a pair for 100 bucks, not retail and it would be worthwhile most likely. Those CDT's are very nice for the money, I think saving up the 150 dollars would be worth it and you would be very glad you saved.

I disagree, tweeter is entirely too harsh. I understand some people like that level of detail, but I can assure you its unbearable at any substantial volume. But if you want em, i'll sell em to you haha. I still vote save up for the CDT's.

the best part about the cdt's in my opinion is the tweeter. very smooth and soft and doesn't sound like someone blowing a whistle in your ear. my 5.25's lack midbass so i'm looking to add more and i should be all set i hope.

I definately think that the infinty tweeter is too harsh, but with the correct eq adjustments they can sound ok. I have cdt's and I recommned them.
