6 Dual 4 ohm subs, suitable amp?

I'm trying to find out how much it will cost me to get an amp thats either 2.67 or .67 stable (thats what they say it will be with 6 dual 4 ohm subs on another fourm) Or a amp that will work with what I got.

I'm thinking about running 6 8" AudioQue SD2 subs, with an amp thats 3000-3500W in a ported box due to space restrictions.

You could get a Mmats d3000.05. Its half ohm stable and will due a true 3k as long as your electical system is in line. Its kinda pricey but Mmats is quality stuff.

12 4ohm coils paralleled = 0.33ohmsseries then paralleled = 1.33ohms
Its six subwoofers that are dual 4 ohm subs,

would that not make it .67?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I had a budget around 1500 for my amps, subs, alt, deck, etc, but I won't have it right away. I'm a student in highschool so I'm just working this summer.

The Mmats D3000.5 is $999.99 on WoofersETC.

I dunno what I should do because, I have a regular cab sonoma, I want good subs but I want space in the cab aswell (6' 1").

I found with my other setup in my car, it would kinda struggle on lows. I'm trying to do a loud stereo for my truck that will hit low.

x2, Problem solved here. Wire each dual 4ohm speaker in series, so you end up with (6) 8ohm drivers.

Then wire them together in parallel for a final load of 1.33 which pretty much any amp thats 1ohm stable can handle.

I'm kinda thinkin it might be better to get either one 12 'large sub' in a ported box, or two or shallow mount subs.

maybe something like a Mmats Dreadnaut or P3 in a ported box, or a couple Kicker CVTs.

I've got a space thats 52" long, 23" tall, 8 1/4" wide.

I should be able to get around a 2-2.4ish cube box?

You could also look at getting 2 smaller amps instead of one large amp. Like 2 of the AQ 1200's or sundown 1500. Then wire the subs in groups of 3 to the amps to get a .7 ohm load which most 1 ohm amps can handle when taking in to consideration imp rise and the addition of a decent electrical system. Its just an option to think about.

Dreadnaut's are awsome subs man, a bit pricey again, but worth the quality. I had 1 Juggernaugt 15 and won quite a bit of trophies with it. Its worth a look.
