6.5 vs 5x7 Above 100hz

I know the 6.5 produces better mid-bass, but is there any significant advantage if the speakers are set to be run above 100hz? Thanks

The 6.5" will likely have less distortion due to the 5x7's abnormal cone shape and resulting imbalance of force applied by the coil/former structure.

^^^ agree...for the most part 6.5 are the ideal shape for mid ranges which do include 100hz-300hz easy, this is why subwoofers are mostly round

Thanks for the replies. I'm now leaning towards have adapters made for 6.5s in the front doors of my Explorer.

Good choice. U want need adapters made you can buy them from crutchfield for next to nothing.

That's what I'm doing, making my own adapters. I have an Explorer as well.
