The 6.5's will give better midbass, if you have the cash, get them.

Hi Guys ,I all ready ordered polk SR6500 ebay $450 New

I read One Thread Here that SR5250 sounded better

6.3/8 goes down to 40k hz & 5.1/4 is at 45k hz

so they do sound diffrent?Both sizes fit in my truck although 5.1/4 easyer to fit.

My Home speakers are Monitor Audio silver series 1 - 6" woffer , I tested the silver series 2 --7" woffer which was $100 more but the smaller one sounded better. Has anyone heard these to sizes back to back SR6500 vs Sr5220 ?

I was about to post a similar topic but I'll just add it in here.. How much of a difference is there in the midbass between the two sizes? I'm looking into swapping out my stock Bose system (5.25") but I'm wondering if it'd be worth the time and effort to custom rig something (either MDF rings or fiberglass pods) to fit 6.5"s.
