6.5" comps

I can't decide if I want to get an alright pair of 6.5" comps and spend the time mounting the tweeter cause the woofer would just go in the stock 6.5" hole. Or I could get a nice set of coaxials and put em in the stock spot. I'm looking to spend $150 shipped. Any recommendations on what I should do?

I would go with components all the way, a lot better IMO. I just ordered a set of RE 6.5" components for $165 shipped, from what I've read they are awesome! Search around, there are a few different component sets in that price range.

Are you using headunit power or an external amplifier??

Someone is selling a set of Aura mr62 comps in the classified and those are a component that mounts like a coax.

Time spent will be well worth it, IMO.

Go for the aura set, that mounts like coaxials. I had the same problem and ended up fashioning new mounts in my car.

if you are really on a budget and dont want to mount the tweeters, then you might want to check out a convertable set. the diamond audio cm3's are a decent set that offer that option.
