5x7's. I hear they ****

I have a Bronco which has 5x7's in the back. I am in the market for better ones as it seems like I blow them often and I don't like the way they sound. I have had infinity, Boston, and Sony and did not like either. Should I just get adapters and go with 5.25"? Are they better? I will be throwing 125W RMS at them so they need to handle some wattage.

If you must use the stock location try a 5x7 plate. They usually have a 4" woofer and a seperate tweeter. Kinda like a component system.

Yeah. I have been looking at those. The problem is they can only handle 60W. I will be feeding 125. They are rated at 200 Peak so do you think I'll be ok?

I cant find anything in a plate that will handle that kind of power except Lanzar so I think your best bet would be to make your own adapter and buy a coaxial or component system.

What do I use to make something out of? There is hardly any clearance between the speaker and grill of the interior panel as there is.

Just cut a baffle out of mdf, adn get a 6.5" or 5.25" coaxial that will take 100 or so rms.
