I had a 2000 f150 with 5x7's and i built brackets and die grinded the body to fit some alpine type r 6.5 components. The main reason was because i couldn't find any good 5x7 components at the time (2001)

I just picked up a 2002 f150 and am getting ready to throw some sound in it. Are there any good 5x7 component systems out there? If not, i will just do the same thing i did last time.

oh yeah, some options as far as 6.5 components go would be great too.

it needs to have a flush mount silk tweeter. (thats pretty much my only requirement) i want something that will handle 100 - 150rms with no problems.

jl makes some 5x7 comps..though i'd opt for either the vr or xr series..

in my 98 mercury i am in the procees of making a mdf plate to house my alpine r's..pretty easy
