.5ohm on my bx1605d is it possible?

Well I have a HiFonics BX1605D, obviously its a Class D amplifier so I thought it would be able to handle this but anyways if I got 2 15" type-r's but they were both 2 ohms and I wired them with series/parallel to make the load a .5ohm load, would my bx1605d handle that?

btw, I would be getting the type-r's from a friend and they are DVC 2ohm subs so don't just tell me to get dvc 4ohm subs and wire them to 1 ohm because i know that :p

thanks guys

With the right electrical, its possible, But I doubt it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif WOrst that would probably happen is it will go into protect...

hmm. Series/parallel of 2 dual 2 subs IS a 2 ohm load.

All parallel would yield a .5 ohm load before impedence rise(I don't know the DCR of the coils, it could be higher or lower actually)

If you do wire series/parallel, it's better to wire the coils in series and the subs in parallel. Wiring speakers in series introduces a slight phase variance ~35 degrees. It's better to keep the subs in phase(parallel) and each set of coils the same degree out of phase(series)
