500watts -> 650 watts or 800?

I currently have a 500 watt kenwood 8105d amp that pushes out 500watt rms at 2 ohms.

If I get a PPI iON 650 watt amp and push it at 2 ohms, would it be much of a difference sound wise?

or should I just go ahead and get the Pioneer GMD 9601 that will put out 800 watts at 2 ohms?

The sub I will be getting is the American Bass TNT

I also will be getting Big 3 upgrade done and 4 gauge wiring kit installed. Just trying to plan out now

The pioneer actually looks pretty nice. The only problem I see with it is according to sonic electronics description it doesn't have a sub sonic filter which you will want if you put that sub In a ported enclosure. No you won't really hear difference between 150 watts either. What is your budget maybe we can come up with some other suggestions.

The TNT is a 600W RMS sub at the 10" size, so I'd be more comfortable using a bigger amp rather than your existing Kenwood. It will still work fine, but you could stand to have a bit more juice on that sub. You could get an amp that does 900W at 2 ohms for around the same price as the Pioneer amp.

i was looking at the precision power phantom? i think and it's 900w at 2 ohms. Thing is I have a little ole Focus and dont think it'd favor that much power lol.

Word is that 750-800 is the most I should do on stock electrical

Your alternator can't be much different from the one in my Saturn. If you play music that isn't clipped all the time you can run more than 1,000w RMS. Do the big 3 and use an AGM battery under the hood.

so in that case, the precision power phantom is a good bet for my needs huh?

$250 for a 800w rms @ 2 ohm sub amp? LOL!!!

I got my sundown 1500d v1 for $180...1500w rms @ 1 ohm clean (under rated)

500 to 800 is not much, but if you are like me, you will notice the tiny bit.

That sub is rated at 600w rms. I don't know if that is under rated or not (honestly, it would be much better if these companies just rated their stuff accurately)

If they take 600 then no, not much difference.

If they take 800-1000w rms then yeah, I would give them close to 1000w rms.

Hard to say cause they are retards who can't rate their stuff accurately and cause confusion

If your headlights are already dimming you need to check the ground wires on the headlights. They're probably bolted to painted surfaces, as that's what the factory usually does on some critical ground junctions.
