500w for a Mag 15?

A friend of mine is basically giving me a 15" SI Mag but the only thing I could use it for would be a HT sub.

My 1st question would be is 500w enough for it ?

I am looking into plate amps and I came across this one for a price I can live with.

How big of a box would I need(tuned to low 20's from what I have read)?
