$5000 SPL/SQ system

im just about to get a system i have been saving up for ages. i have a mazda3 hatch, enjoy dance music, and want strong bass but also clarity from my speakers.

Seas Lotus reference silk dome

Directed Amp 2400 D class

Butler Tube Driver 475

Image Dynamics IDMAX 10" x 2

Audio Control LCG (at this stage i want to keep dash so no head unit)

all up, its about $5500 US, including install, with a highly regarded tuner.

im a little nervous but excited and wanted some unbiased feeback-will be much appreciated!

Excellent equipment - you're getting taken for one hell of a ride with the installation.

For five grand, I would expect a show-class install - sunken amps, lots of fiberglassing/CF work...

i must mention that this is being done in australia so all the equipment is not local ie imported and will be more than what it is in the states.

but apparently these guys are the best installers in town. its not a show car though.

With the currency exchange rate, that would add up to about $2700 here. Or did you already do the exchange?

 

If you already factored in the rate change and it is $5000, then yes, thats a **** for installation. If it is actually $2700-ish, your around the right ballpark IMO.

i remember that kid that spent around 5,000 i believe and they put the shitties equipment in, and didn't even hook up one of the amps to his system it was just sitting there for show cause the speakers couldn't take it.

When I was out that way, alot of people would refer to their amount in US dollars at the inflated amount.

 

So him saying $5000 US dollars could mean $2700-ish our dollars but in their value.

 

It can get very confusing. Homeboy needs to come clear this up so we know what is being spent. Tell us what you are spending in Austrailian moneys.
