My step-brother is looking to get a system for his car.

Car unknowm at this time.

He's looking for more SPL then SQ

70/30 mix

He's want to get an amp and subs for this price.

What should he look into getting?

I would look into these:

1 RE XXX 12

1 RE35-1D

1 RE SE 15

1 Tsunami 1000D

1 Adire Brahma (Ported)

1 Ampman/Adire REVO

2 Elemental 15s (Ported)

1 JbL 1200.1

How much does a XXX cost? Was he talking about 500-700 each for the sub and amp or the sub and amp for no more than 700? If you have the money, i'd go with the brahma. Hopefully by summer i'll have enough money for two Brahma 12s or 15s. By the way, what would power them good if i did choose that setup?

I know...a XXX is less than 400 bucks

Oh ok, i thought it was pushin 4 or 5 hundred. Then he needs a powerful amp to push that beast. and i was looking at the wiring and stuff. Oh well, good luck man

hey i like your system.. im thinking about doing the same thing. except kappa perfect 5.1 in the back.. how does the kappa perfect sounds with that rockford amp??? and about the RE XXX let me know holw it would sound with that amp...

i currenty have rockford 500x with kappa perfect 6.1+ 5.1 with rockford 2-350s and 2-L7's

i'm trying to sell my bass system(2-350s + 2-L7) and get larger rockford amp or RE-35d1 with either RE XXX or IDMAX.. im leaning towards SQ more that's why

everything's brand new.. not installed yet.. so if your brother have any interest about those amps and subs, let me know..

The Kappa's sound pretty good with the Rockford Amp. I haven't had any problems to speak of with them.

About the subs with the 1000.1BD I'm still waiting on the money to get them put in.

I'm getting the money this weekend.

I think I'm going to go with a 15in Brahma and a JBL 1200.

Still not sure of what kinda car it's going into. He tells me maybe a small sports car or something along that line.

What size box in required for a 15 with 1200watts?

Or should I get a 12 just to be safe.

with 1200W, you might need to go a bit small. (small meaning under 3 cubes). Check out the power handling chart on http://www.adireaudio.com in the mobile audio ---> drivers -----> brahma section. that will show you how much power you need. Are you gonna go ported or sealed?

well, I would personally not go ported with a Brahma, because it's a sound quality driver, and I like sound quality.

If you're friend is indeed 70/30 SPL/SQ, then go ported, yes, but you will need a large, LARGE box to port a brahma. If you use a 12, it would be more economical.
