5 channel amps- ohm question

I got a RF 5 channel 25 to life. It's a real nice amp for what I need. My question is this, do I have to keep the ohms the same on all channels? I'm currently running a 2 sets of MB Quart Q series, each wired to 2 ohms, and I want to run 4 subs wired to 1 ohm. I know the amp is 1 ohm stable, but do all the channels have to be wired to the same ohm rating?

I don't think the sub channel on that amp is Class D and probably will NOT like 1 ohm. The other 4 channels will be fine at 2 ohms with your MB Quarts, but the sub channel you probably need to stay no lower than 2 ohm and even then it may heat up.

Is this the Punch 1000 or Power 1000 (whatever they call it) 25 to Life model?

I have the 25 to Life Punch 150 and man it's more powerful by a good stretch compared to what the ratings on the box are.... More like 350 x 2 than 75 x 2... LOL...

It's a Power 1000. I know this one is also much more powerful than the specs. The birth sheet lists the sub channel at 900 watts@ 1 ohm, 700 @ 2 ohm

If they list it as being okay to use at 1 ohm then you are fine with that. But be aware it may heat up at full blast for 30 minutes driving!

Each channel is pretty much independent of the others and having them running different ohm loads as long as it's within the manufacturers recommended minimums will be fine.
