5.7L Vortec to LS1

[dyabolical 10+ year member]

So my 97 chevy z71 is needing some new life. So i was thinking of dropping the iron block 350 and going to the aluminium LS1 for better performance and shedding the few extra hundred pounds or so.

Opinions?

And yes i already know about LS1truck.com

Its by far a better engine for daily usage.......

Better powerband,better milege,avalible in all aluminum

and reasonably priced if your scrounging the yards for a rebuildable.

I hated my 350 Vortec when I owned one,it was slow,thirsty and

really not much better than what they made 20 years earlier
